Police have not yet laid charges in relation to a crash near Geraldine this week, which injured seven people.
The crash happened at the intersection of Coach and Winchester-Geraldine roads about 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Police say a student driving a rental car with five occupants failed to stop at a stop sign.
The rental car collided with a vehicle in which a Temuka mother and daughter were travelling.
Two people from the rental car were flown to Christchurch Hospital by the Westpac rescue helicopter and another patient was transferred to Christchurch from Timaru the following day.
Five patients from the two vehicles were taken to Timaru Hospital. Only one remains in hospital.
An update on those taken to Christchurch Hospital could not be provided yesterday.
Police have interviewed people involved in the crash.
