HONOURED: Past international director Ron Luxton presents Temuka Lions Club retiring secretary Pat Dolan with an international president's leadership award.

There is a new leader of the pride at the Temuka Lions Club.

The club recently held its annual changeover and induction of officers.

Outgoing president Peter Maslin reported on another successful year for the club with over $16,000 in donations having been made to a wide range of charities.

The money was raised from three of the club's main projects - the hot dog caravan and from fertiliser and firewood sales.

The evening also included a presentation by past international director Lion Ron Luxton, of a prestigious international president's leadership award to retiring secretary Pat Dolan.

Pat Dolan has been a Lion for more than 40 years, during which he has served as secretary for 18 years.

He has also served as president during 1995-1996 as well as bulletin editor for more than five years.

Lion Warren Eagle received an honoured membership of the Lloyd Morgan Lions Club Charitable Trust of New Zealand for his work within the club.

The incoming president for the 2014-2015 year is Dave Bennett whose aim is to uphold the club's motto of "Improving Our Community".
