Geraldine lights up the night
Geraldine's Light the Night Trail, held on Friday as part of the Winterlights Festival, was a resounding success said co-ordinator Janene Adams.
"We built on the success of last year," she said.
Adams said around 400 people had turned out.
"A lot of people brought their own lanterns.
"One person even had a lampshade on a stick covered in fluoro paint as their lantern.
"It was just magical, it really was," she said.
Adams said the team was already making plans for next year's event.
"We already have ideas to make it more interesting and magical for the children next year."
The event was part of the Winterlights Festival, which included other happenings such as Poems by Candlelight and Solar Viewing.
The Ukelele Festival was also held in Geraldine over the weekend.
Last year's was the first Winterlights Festival, and it will become an annual event.
