Game of bridge a winner for charity

The Geraldine branch of the Save the Children Fund played bridge for charity.

The club hosted a charity tournament in the Geraldine Bridge Club's new rooms at the Geraldine Bowling Club. It was a "successful tournament" with clubs from Waimate, Timaru, Temuka and Geraldine filling 10 tables.

The day also included lunch, raffles and a profit for the fund.

Joy Luisetti and Diane Stuart won North/South with 63.52 per cent, second place went to Lesley Andrew and Kay Nicholas and third to Vivian Hill and Marie Temple.

East/West was won by Barbara Wilson and Evelyn Milliken with 63.47 per cent, Mary Thatcher and Eleanor Reilly came second, while Anita Durning and Edith Bracefield placed third.
