An expansion and move is planned for established Timaru clothing business Camerons.

The company's Evolv store will move north up Stafford St into a revamped store on the corner of the Royal Arcade.

Cameron's womenswear store will head south into its original retail store (which currently houses menswear).

The menswear will be moved into the left side of the original store and still carry schoolwear and surfwear.

Director Warren Park said the move was positive and meant Evolv's range would expand. "We will be able to add to our fashion range as the new premises are bigger and better," he said.

The new Evolv store will stock men's, women's and children's wear.

Park said they were hoping to open the new Evolv store this Friday. "We are working frantically to try and have Friday as our first trading day."

The old Evolv shop and Camerons womenswear shop will be available for lease.

First National Reid and Wilson's Peter Wilson said he had already spoken to prospective tenants.

"We haven't started marketing them yet, but there is sufficient demand for shops in this end of town."
