Spat over cat settled
A neighbourly disagreement over a cat in Temuka ended in a police house call.
Temuka Senior Constable J A McIlraith said one neighbour had become upset with another neighbour's cat coming into their yard.
"They set up a trap and sprayed the cat with water," she said.
The cat's owners became concerned when they could not find their pet and later discovered it in their neighbour's yard in a trap, she said.
The owner removed the cat from the trap , stomped on it and handed the damage to the neighbour.
"We sorted it out," McIlraith said.
"The cat owner has agreed to fix the trap and the [trap] owner has agreed to not use it on the cat, they will only spray it with water."
