Work Safe New Zealand is investigating the death of a 60-year-old Waimate man after his body was discovered on a pig farm near Glenavy last Friday.
Bene Mahu's body was found in an effluent pond on McPherson Road by his employer.
Oamaru police Sergeant Craig Sew Hoy said the incident was reported to police shortly before 3pm and at this stage his death was not being treated as suspicious.
"His body was discovered under a pump in the pond. It is not known how he got in the pond, but we are not treating his death as suspicious.
