Ranger Construction has received a "partial payment" of the outstanding $200,000 it was owed by the Timaru District Council for work on the CBay Aquatic Centre.
In May, The Timaru Herald reported the Timaru District Council was waiting an architect's assessment before the construction firm received full payment.
Ranger Construction had to complete repair work on the 25-metre lane pool, which was closed from March 16 to April 4. Last year, three minor leaks also had to be repaired at the complex.
Yesterday, council's district services manager Ashley Harper said they had made a partial payment, but would not confirm the amount paid.
"Some of the defects have been resolved . . . we still have some money to pay and when we get the architecture's final sign-off, the final payment will be made."
Harper said he hoped the final payment would be made within the next couple of months.
