Aoraki Polytechnic has a new chief executive.
Kay Nelson will replace Wendy Smith, who left late last year. Ms Nelson has more than 20 years experience in the tertiary education sector and is currently executive director of Wellington Development, the organisation promoting Weltec in Wellington.
Aoraki Polytechnic chairperson Robin Kilworth credited a thorough interview and selection process with getting the right candidate. "We were fortunate to have a strong group of candidates to choose from." Mrs Kilworth said that the Aoraki Polytechnic Council was confident that Ms Nelson had the background and experience to lead Aoraki Polytechnic into the future.
Ms Nelson will begin her new role in June.
