* South Canterbury Horse Racing Club hosts its family day from noon at the Phar Lap Raceway.

* Pleasant Point Railway steaming day. Travel back in time on the steam train for a tour of the Pleasant Point Museum. On today from 10.30am to 4pm.

* Sharleen McIsaac and Adele Keene's new exhibitions are on at the York St Gallery.

* Back em Up! The South Canterbury Home Front in WWII – the South Canterbury Museum's new exhibition that explores the experiences of local people, and how they were affected by the events of World War II. Exhibition open today.

* Sharleyne Diamond and Phil Doublet perform at the Caroline Bay Carnival from 1.30pm and 6.30pm.

* The Miss Cutie and Junior Miss Cutie competitions are on tomorrow at the Caroline Bay Carnival from 10.45am.

* The Omarama Rodeo is on today.
