Police investigating the killing of two dogs are appealing for help.

Lilly, a six-year-old brindle boxer, and Layla, a 10-month-old american bulldog, were stolen from their owner's home in Otematata on February 28 and found slaughtered and dumped in the area's sewerage water reservoir.

Kurow constable Craig Bennett said he was making inquiries into the deaths and would like to hear from anyone that saw any vehicles or people around the golf course and boat ramp in the Otematata area over night on Sunday, February 28, and also the following Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 5 to 7.

He was also seeking information about where the dogs might have been kept for the several days they were missing. Any information would be treated in confidence, he said.

Saturday

A 35-year-old Timaru man was processed for EBA. He blew 550mcg (limit 400mcg)

There was a report of wilful damage near Macdonald St. The windows of a car were smashed, along with windows of a nearby house.

The Ashbury Croquet Club reported that someone had fired a BB Gun at its clubhouse, damaging two windows. Police are seeking further information on the incident.

A 20-year-old Ashburton man was arrested for disorderly behaviour after jumping on a car.

A 48-year-old Temuka woman was arrested for disorderly behaviour and taken to detox.

Sunday

A 16-year-old Timaru youth was stopped for driving without a licence.

Caravans and a holiday home in the Otematata area have been entered during the past few weeks. Items taken include clothing, electrical equipment and household items. Kurow police are appealing for any information about the burglaries.

A house in Rose St had a brick thrown through its front window.
