A 40-year-old Arrowtown man was pulled out of the Kawarau River just below the Kawarau Falls Bridge after his jet ski sank.
Acting Sergeant Phill Hamblin, of Queenstown police, said the man was pulled out of the river by Queenstown tourist operators about 3.30pm yesterday.
"The man was spotted by a member of the public who called us," he said.
"A Kawarau Jet boat was able to pluck the man out of the water, and he's fine."
Both Mr Hamblin and Queenstown harbourmaster Marty Black said the swift actions of Kawarau Jet boat operators were to be commended in the rescue.
Mr Black pulled the jet ski from the river at 5pm.
He said it would be usable again.
