Rotary Club of Timaru South members Brian Chandler (left) and Ray Brosnahan are preparing for this year's Carols by Candlelight concert being held at the Theatre Royal on Sunday.

Donations from the concert will benefit the Cancer Society's Relay for Life fundraiser.

Run by the Rotary Club of Timaru South for 43 years, the event is the club's biggest fundraising event of the year, publicity officer Des Kearns said.

Tony Bunting returns again to present the concert, and a pre-show warm-up by Double Talk duo Cheryl Higgs and Alistair Bradley, will be followed by appearances from the St Joseph's School choir, the Kuepper sisters, and soloists Rosie Chambers and Jesse Frahm.

Councillor Damon Odey will deliver a mayoral message from Mayor Janie Annear, and Rev Nick Mountford will give the minister's message.
