A cardboard city sprung up in the middle of Timaru yesterday as a construction project of schoolchildren in the O Lounge school holidays programme.
The pupils, including, from left, Caleb Winter, Christian Baillie and Cameron Winter, were supplied with cardboard boxes and worked in groups to design and build what they liked.
The city included everything from houses to a version of the famous London clock tower Big Ben.
The programme runs each day during school holidays from 8am to 6pm.
Children go on field trips and participate in activities from baking to karaoke contests.
The O Lounge also offers an after-school programme.
