The man accused of murdering Shane Braddick in May has been committed for trial at Timaru High Court, and will next appear on November 23.

Mr Braddick, 28, was found dead on York St about 3am on May 11.

Timaru man Johnny Grant Holman, 25, has been charged with Mr Braddick's murder, but has not yet entered a plea.

Holman's application to hear the oral evidence against him was to be heard last week but was put off, however the registrar confirmed yesterday his counsel Jonathan Eaton had since withdrawn the application.

"Therefore Mr Holman has been committed to the Timaru High Court for trial as per the standard committal process.

"First call in the Timaru High Court is 23 November, 2012, 9.30am."

Holman first appeared on Saturday, May 12 in front of a Justice of the Peace and did not enter a plea. He was in court again two days later. Holman again did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.
