Hundreds of people gathered at Caroline Bay on Saturday to take part in Timaru's annual Lovelock Memorial 10km Run and Walk.

Participants were treated to a new course this year, starting and finishing near the soundshell. The course took them to Marine Pde, along the boardwalk to Benvenue Cliffs. They then made their way along Benvenue and Te Weka streets, and Virtue Ave before returning to the bay.

A Virtue Ave resident helped keep temperatures down by assembling their sprinkler over the footpath for anyone wanting to cool off.

Participants completed the course three times to make up the 10km distance.
