Financial targets for the CBay aquatic centre are on track.
A report to Tuesday's Timaru District Council district services committee said the Learn to Swim area was tracking ahead of expectations, the group fitness programmes were "ramping up" and more than 1000 pupils were enrolled in the swim school for term four.
The report said that for September, and overall, financial targets were on budget. While there had been some teething problems with the centre, those were being addressed and "the business as usual scenario is developing nicely".
The large volumes of both visitors and users, coupled with learning new systems, had been a challenge for staff, who were responding extremely well.
A small number of minor construction items were being completed and refurbishment of the outdoor pool was under way. The 50m pool should be available from mid November.
