Attention, ladies: a popular women's athletic event and fundraiser is returning to South Canterbury in November.
The Women's Triathlon will be held on November 18 at the Temuka Domain, after a few years' hiatus and is open to participants of all ability levels who are at least 14 years old. It includes a 200 metre swim, 12 kilometre bike and a 3km run/walk.
Non-runners should not shy away - walkers were also welcomed, organiser Kirsten Lindblom said.
The fundraiser is organised jointly by the Temuka Primary School and Opihi College PTAs to benefit both schools. The event also features spot prizes, including the chance to win a bike courtesy of Avantiplus Timaru.
The entry fee is $30 and includes an event T-shirt.
Participants should sign up in advance of the day at the following locations: Avantiplus Timaru, Timaru i-site, Caroline Bay Trust Aoraki Aquatic Centre, Opihi College, Temuka Primary School and Geraldine i-site. For more information contact Tania McGillen at 615 7000.
