A concert commemorating fallen Anzac soldiers will bring together brass instrumentalists of all ages from Timaru and Christchurch.
Timaru and Woolston brass bands will combine forces for an afternoon's entertainment on Sunday at the Theatre Royal, performing separately, and then as a massed band.
The concert will feature original pieces by band musical director Dwayne Bloomfield and will include 7.1 - a piece drawing on the experiences of the Canterbury and Christchurch earthquakes, which premiered in Timaru in July at the New Zealand Brass Band Championships.
Timaru Brass Band president and trombonist Kent Smith said the concert, in its second year, was held to "remember the troops that have gone over the years".
