Gymsport South Canterbury's plans and costings for the Century Pool site should be known this month.
Timaru District Council's corporate services manager, Tina Rogers, confirmed yesterday she was awaiting details from Gymsport South Canterbury on their proposal to use the former swimming pool complex.
She expected that information to include both the club's proposal and costings.
That information would be included in a report being prepared for the council's community development committee on November 27.
Gymsport's was the only serious proposal received by the Timaru District Council after it twice advertised for expressions of interest in the building.
Its proposal is to turn the complex, minus the pools, into a "movement excellence centre" as a permanent base for interested gymnastics clubs. It could also incorporate other movement sports such as martial arts and activities like yoga and over-60s exercise groups. Scouts and Guides might also use the facility.
