Diving in to CBay Aquatic Centre
Diving is close to reality at Timaru's CBay Aquatic Centre.
The one-metre demountable board would be installed as soon as specialised bolts arrived, district services manager Ashley Harper said yesterday.
The diving board will only be available at certain sessions, and will be removed at other times.
Building work on the 50-metre outdoor pool was expected to be finished this week, meaning the pool should be filled and in use by the end of the month, Mr Harper said.
The $300,000 project involved installing new drainage channels, finding and fixing subterranean leaks, repainting the pool, its surrounds and buildings, upgrading spectator seating and improving the ambience to better match that of the nearby new aquatic centre.
