The Leader of the Opposition will be in Timaru at the end of the month.

Labour leader David Shearer will be the guest speaker at a luncheon organised by the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce and Aoraki Development Business and Tourism on Thursday November 29. His brief is to discuss "A New Economy and Fair Society", followed by a question and answer session.

Super Liquor on Stafford St has changed hands and been purchased by Harbeeb Singh from Christchurch who took over on Thursday.

Aon New Zealand has re- located to the original South Canterbury Finance building on Sophia St. Previously it had been located at PGG Wrightson on Evans St.

The regional finalists of the Guinness Pint Master 2012 have been announced - five duos from the Lower South Island will compete on Tuesday, November 20, to see who has the perfect pour that will represent the region at the grand final on December 4 in Auckland. The Old Bank will be representing Timaru.

Holden will be bringing a road show to Drummond and Etheridge on Monday. They will be promoting the new long range Electric Volt and Colorado 7. The cars will be there "in the metal" for two hours from 4pm.
