Around a hundred motorcyclists formed a funeral procession for Grant John Roberts at lunchtime in Timaru today.

Roberts, who was a Road Knight, was killed in a crash the Lindis Pass last Monday.

Bikers followed the hearse from the Road Knights High Street club rooms through Stafford St and on to Geraldine. Traffic lights were phased to allow the procession to travel continuously up Stafford St.

Mr Roberts, 43, and Tauranga man Dennis Michael Pederson, 54, were travelling north on motorcycles when they crashed with a southbound Nissan vehicle on State Highway 8, near Goodger Rd on the pass.
