Club offers chance to chat
A few Temuka business owners, retailers and police have breakfast together every six weeks to discuss their community and chat.
Real estate agent Jill Bennett organised the first breakfast club 18 months ago because she had no time to catch up with other people.
She said she would see people walking down the street and barely had time to say "hello" to them.
The group meet at a local cafe early in the morning and discuss a range of topics from concerns in their community to general chat about their families.
Numbers attending vary but there is no compulsion.
"It is informal, a chance to talk about what's going on," she said.
She said it was a valuable time and a chance to get to know other people.
