Graduands to take to street

Aoraki Polytechnic students will pound the pavement today on their way to graduation.

More than 320 students will march down Stafford St before graduating from one of 70 programmes.

The parade will start at 3.15pm at the Piazza and will continue along Stafford St to George and Barnard streets before finishing at the Theatre Royal for the graduation ceremony at 4.30pm.

Academic registrar Lyn George said students would be graduating in a range of fields including hospitality, tourism, hair and beauty, agriculture and technology, health and education, business, arts and media.

Olympian Lauren Ellis, an Aoraki Polytechnic graduate, will attend the ceremony as guest speaker.
