Foodies will have plenty to feast over when the Geraldine District Golf Club launches its next fundraising venture.
The club will host a food expo in March to raise money for an upgrade of the clubroom's kitchen.
Club catering convener Jan Oliver came up with the idea after realising the kitchen was "in desperate need" of a makeover.
Her suggestion for a fundraiser was welcomed by other club members and planning for the big day is under way.
"I thought 'what can we do to make a good amount of money to go towards it'."
Master Chef finalist Jax Hamilton is among the many people who have agreed to help the fundraiser. She will host cooking demonstrations on the day.
A range of produce will also be available for taste-testing and buying.
Ladies club captain Shona Bensemann said members were still waiting to hear from some of the possible stallholders, but response so far had been good.
It was hoped $10,000 would be raised, she said. "We realise it's out there, but it depends on our ticket sales."
It was not known exactly what changes would be made to the kitchen until the money had been raised, she said.
"We keep looking at it and people keep coming up with different ideas, but once we've got some money behind us . . . we can start thinking about it."
The food expo will be held on March 3, from 10am to 4pm, at the Geraldine District Golf Club.
