Aquatic centre popular
Timaru's new aquatic centre has attracted more visitors over the holiday period than predicted.
A report to Tuesday's district services committee said that attendance numbers were above expectation, but no numbers were provided.
"An informed progress report" in relation to operational costs and revenue will be provided to councillors at the budget meeting in March, community services manager Sharon Matson said.
Learn to swim programmes continue to be very popular with about 1000 enrolments received for the first term.
Additional aqua gentle classes are being considered as the twice-weekly sessions are attracting 35-40 people, close to capacity.
A number of issues have been identified which need to be reviewed, Mrs Matsonsaid, with the main issue being car parking.
