A 20-year-old man wanted by Christchurch police in connection with several burglaries was arrested in Timaru on Saturday.
Timaru police and the armed offenders squad arrested Aiden Hamilton at a residence in the West End after receiving a tip on his whereabouts.
He was arrested without incident about 10.15am.
He is expected to appear in the Christchurch District Court today on charges of burglary and breach of bail.
Hamilton was charged with the burglary of several residences in Somerfield, Christchurch, last month, and was released on bail in late January.
Christchurch police said Hamilton had been wearing an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet, but he removed it.
They believe he was then involved in several more burglaries in areas as far as the West Coast and Otago, along with a 31-year-old Christchurch man arrested on Friday.
