Driver charged in connection with fatal crash
A 46-year-old Timaru man has been charged with reckless driving causing death following the death of Fonterra worker Steve Kirkcaldie in March.
He is due to appear in court on September 10.
Mr Kirkcaldie was killed in a collision with a vehicle as he cycled home near the intersection of Milford-Clandeboye and Bain roads.
Police are still investigating two other fatal crashes in which a 5-week old infant from Timaru and a 41-year-old Washdyke resident were killed.
Donna Lee Switalla died after being hit by a truck near the intersection of State Highway 1 and Falvey Rd, north of Timaru, last month.
In June, the infant died from injuries he suffered in a crash near Pareora.
