Real estate agent to face charge
A South Canterbury man will appear before the Real Estate Disciplinary Tribunal on Monday charged with misconduct.
The charge has been laid by the Real Estate Agents Authority and is the most serious it can lay, an authority spokesperson said yesterday.
The charge alleges the man created false invoices in respect of a client and a number of businesses in South Canterbury.
The charge was laid after a member of the public made a complaint to the authority, the authority investigated, and decided there was sufficient information to lay the complaint with the tribunal.
The Real Estate Disciplinary Tribunal has been operating for four years.
During that time around 30 agents have been found guilty of misconduct and a similar number of charges are waiting to be heard.
