Search for Timaru talent under way
Timaru's own talent search is under way with budding entertainers lining up in the limelight.
The first heat of Timaru's Got Talent took place last night at the Sail and Anchor.
Nine acts appeared in the first heat with Sha-Low, Amy O'Keefe, Bailey Dunnage, Bry Rooney and Lochie Basford, and Courtney Boyce making it through to the finals.
The audience selects one finalist from each heat, and the a panel of three judges selects three finalists from each heat. A 'wildcard finalist' is also selected by a 'mystery judge' over the two heats from the competitiors who did not make the finals.
All up, nine finalists will perform two acts each on the night.The next round of heats is Thursday.
Finalists will compete for a pool of $1350, with a first prize of $1000, on Thursday October 31.
