Wind winds up - again
A small fire was sparked when strong winds blew a tree across section of power wires on the corner of Orari Station Rd and Williams Rd.
The 310 customers who lost power because of the line outage were all reconnected by the end of the day.
Gusty winds up to 30kmh hit the district yesterday with a fleeting glimpse of summer weather at lunchtime as temperatures rose to 22C in Timaru.
The outlook is for more strong north-westerly gusts on Monday.
