Young cast set to explain Christmas
A group of young Timaru thespians are gearing up for the opening of Santa Gives Back Christmas, a play that is all the work of secondary school students.
Dress rehearsals are nearing an end and the curtain will go up on Thursday. The play has been motivated, directed, choreographed, and musically directed by students.
Alex Andressend and Jayden Segar are directors, Bry Rooney and Nikki McLaren the musical directors, and Katelyn Hogg and Abigail Austin the choreographers.
The cast of about 30 play a variety of Christmas characters.
Segar said the play is about Santa, who invites children to his workshop to explain the true meaning of Christmas.
It will be performed at the Playhouse on Thursday and Friday at 7pm, and on Saturday at 2pm and 7pm.
