Timaru YMCA students received the Healthy People Award for their film called Future in the national The Outlook for Someday! sustainability film challenge.

The award was for a film focusing on health as a sustainability issue.

The Timaru team of 10 produced a documentary which was a challenging and frank look at the effects of teen drug use and how to support young people to sustain their wellbeing.

Timaru YMCA students were named in the top 20 winners out of 153 entrants. It was the first year they had entered.

YMCA tutor Ronan Causapin attended the red-carpet ceremony in Auckland and was pleased with the result.
