Pupils all set for a summer of fun
St Andrew's School pupils can make a splash this summer thanks to a $22,000 fundraising campaign.
The school, which has 101 pupils, has been without its swimming pool for nearly a year.
However, principal Steve Fennessy said the pool reopened this week after more than $22,000 was raised towards the upgrade.
"It's been a great response from the community over the last year. The pupils have all done their bit, they held barbecues, car washes, you name it," he said.
Mr Fennessy said the upgrade, which was done in stages over the last year, included sandblasting, resealing and repainting the pool.
"It's a great community asset. It's heated by solar panels and a heat pump. When the pupils dived into the water on Wednesday, they didn't feel cold at all," he said.
