WINNING WAYS: Timaru New World outlet workers Missy Maxwell, left, and Janine Harnett celebrate selling 10 winning second division Lotto tickets in Saturday's Lotto draw.

One lucky Timaruvian had a little more cash to splash this Christmas after winning big at Lotto.

A regular Timaru New World customer won a total of $159,242 with 10 winning tickets on Saturday.

Each ticket had the same number, with nine of them winning Lotto second division and scooping $13,667 each. The remaining ticket had the double bonus of also winning Powerball second division, adding $36,239 to the total windfall.

New World owner Howard Smith said staff were always thrilled to have customers win major prizes.

The Timaru winner shares the win with 12 other Lotto players around New Zealand. A Taupo outlet also had a ticket win both Powerball and second division.
