Small fire tricky to put out
A minor fire in a Timaru home proved tricky for fire crews to extinguish yesterday.
The fire was discovered on the outside of a wall cavity, but the cause was not yet known, senior station officer MartinBennett said.
Two crews attended the fire at 6.20pm, when the fire was in its early stages. He said the fire possibly started in or just outside a wall cavity.
''Because of the unusual location of the fire, they had to do some internal renovations to make sure the fire hadn't spread any further.
''It was noticed pretty early - it was a really small, minor fire, but to make sure it was out and make sure it hadn't spread any further, they had to remove some internal petitions.''
No one was injured in the incident.
