Hedges ablaze Hedges proved problematic for fire crews in Timaru yesterday.

Timaru and Washdyke fire fighters were called to Seadown Rd at 4.50pm after a 60 metre long hedge caught fire.

Ten minutes later they were called to another hedge fire, threatening a house in Roslyn Tce, a spokesman said.

Two appliances were sent to Roslyn Tce, including one from Temuka. The spokesman said one Roslyn Tce property sustained minor damage.

Both fires were under control by 5.30pm.
