It was a wet excursion for motorbike riders as they made their way from Omarama to St Bathans at the weekend via the Manuherikia track.

Eighteen riders took up the challenge, requiring them to cross deep rivers and rocky terrain over 80 kilometres.

Some bikes required repairs, while some riders had to wait for their bikes to dry out after succumbing to deep water.
