LUXURY TRAVEL: The Piquets' private aircraft is not expected to jet-set its way too far from scheduled stops around New Zealand for the Toyota Racing Series.

Three-time Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet and his son Pedro are using their Cessna Citation X to get to and from the five rounds of the Toyota Racing Series championship in which 15-year-old Pedro is competing.

The aircraft has been at Timaru Airport since the middle of the week.

Father and son remained coy on the luxurious transportation, but Pedro said there was little chance of seeing other major tourist spots around New Zealand.

They did have a brief stop at Queenstown where bungy jumping was one of the activities on the itinerary.
