The Pleasant Point Ford Model T railcar is slowly on the mend with the help of part donations.
After a story in The Timaru Herald over the weekend the Pleasant Point railway society received two offers of replacement sumps.
Railcar supervisor Stewart Frew said he picked the part donated from Methven, which will allow them to fix the motor. The repairs are now a long-term project, said Mr Frew, with solutions to major structural problems still up in the air.
