Fire damages Timaru home
An early morning blaze has left a Timaru garage severely damaged.
Timaru, Washdyke and Temuka fire crews attended the blaze on Temple Crescent in Gleniti at 2.15am today.
New Zealand Fire Service South Island shift manager Brent Dunn said a switchboard was the cause.
"The fire is not being treated as suspicious."
He said the 16 square metre split level house was severely damaged, but all occupants escaped unharmed. It took five appliances to extinguish the blaze over a period of about two hours.
