Police are looking for four people and have spoken to one in connection with assaults at a fundraising event in Studholme on Saturday night.

Senior Sergeant Mike van der Heyden said four people were yet to be located as part of an investigation into assaults on two actors at farmer Rory Foley's Maize Maze.

The R16 event was set in 1.4 hectares of twists and turns with actors, makeup artists and horror buffs taking part in a showcase to benefit Cancer Society South Canterbury.

Five people, apparently intoxicated, made their way into the event and were reportedly involved in the assaults that took place during the course of the programme.

One of the actors was kicked in the face and suffered a black eye and the other was left with a bruised face when a corn cob was hurled by one of the group, Mr Foley said.

Mr Van der Heyden said no charges had yet been laid but police had leads.
