Two admit to driving crash Mercedes
Timaru police are widening their investigations after two people admitted driving a car involved in a crash at Washdyke.
A 2013 Mercedes crashed into a property at the intersection of Treneglos St and Elginshire St after 9pm on February 13.
Sergeant Ian Howard said the vehicle was "badly damaged", and it had "mangled" a gate at a nearby property.
Later that night a 50-year-old Timaru woman confessed to being the driver, but Mr Howard said a man has since provided a statement, saying he drove the vehicle.
"We're continuing our inquiries. That's as much as I can tell you at this stage."
