Gigatown race is still anyone's
Timaru has overtaken Oamaru in the Gigatown competition and now sits in third place, but with Dunedin bolstered by an influx of students, it's still anyone's game to win.
The leaderboard is set to undergo another big change with the results of the latest mini competition pending, and likely to be released next week.
This time the mini competition had Gigatown supporters filming Instagram clips showing the difference between fibre's speed and capacity, and our current broadband capabilities.
At 1000 points a video, it's likely the current top five positions will all change.
Last week #gigatowntimaru supporters met at Petite Wine and Dine, and all who turned up were presented with their own hashtags to help with creative photo ideas.
We are already seeing some great shots pop up on Facebook, Instagram and Flickr.
This weekend everyone who has signed up to support Gigatown goes into the draw to win a 55inch LG TV.
To be in the draw, join up at gigatown.co.nz (and make sure you select Timaru as your Gigatown). If you have already done that, you're in the draw.
It's a busy week ahead for our Timaru team as we organise t-shirts to be available for the public soon, and we prepare for the Relay For Life, which we have entered a team to run in (using the term ‘run' very loosely here).
Make sure you have liked our Facebook page at Facebook.com/gigatowntim, and we will havemore Gigatown giveaways next week.
