The next generation were the focus of the Temuka & Geraldine A & P Association's 140th annual autumn show on Saturday.

Show secretary Winnie Lawrence said the show was a great success with an estimated 2500 people attending the event, which was held at the Winchester A & P showgrounds.

"We focused on children this year, the next generation of the show," she said.

"We had so much going on this year - we had entertainment and a talent quest. Howes for Pets had a lot of animals out there for the children to pat."

Planning for next year will begin next month, she said.

"We have an executive committee of seven and a general committee of 25. We would like to get younger people involved on the committee."
