POOL PRACTICE: Children practise for the Temuka Kids Triathlon.

The Temuka Domain will play host to the first Temuka kids triathlon on Sunday, March 16.

The triathlon especially designed for kids aged between eight and 18 is part of a fundraiser for Temuka Primary School. Parent Teacher Association spokeswoman Karen McArthur said the day will have "a give it a go" attitude with no winners or losers.

However, Mrs McArthur said there will be spot prizes to win on the day, the biggest prize being a bike donated by Bike Inc in Timaru.

Kids can enter as a individual or as a team of three.

If this year is a success, Mrs McArthur said they will look at having a triathlon every year, growing as they go along.

The money raised goes towards the school's discovery programme, Life Education Trust visits and swimming activities. There is an entry fee of $15 for the Triathlon.
