TGHS principal heads to China
Timaru Girls' High School principal Sarah Davis jetted off to China last night as part of a delegation of New Zealand principals.
She was one of 50 principals from across the country going on the week-hosted by the Chinese government.
Timaru Girls' will be offering Mandarin as part of its subject list and will get a Chinese teacher, Ren Xi, partway through the year.
"It will be a great opportunity to meet Ren in Beijing before she comes to Timaru," Davis said.
She said she had never been to China, and had not yet had the opportunity to think about the trip.
"I have been so busy, I've been operating on automatic pilot. It won't hit until I get off the plane tomorrow morning."
