RSA set to sell Anzac poppies
More than 100 Returned and Services Association (RSA) members are volunteering their time to help out with poppy sales on Poppy Day, South Canterbury RSA general manager Michelle Brown says.
Poppy Day, organised by the RSA, will be held nationally on April 17 in the lead-up to Anzac Day.
"The proceeds will go towards helping out the RSA members. Poppies were delivered yesterday and there will be collection boxes at 42 outlets," Brown said.
On the day itself, 10 major retail sites will have volunteers helping out with the sale of poppies.
"The [South Canterbury] RSA raised $13,000 last year through poppy sales and this year we are hoping to raise more."
