Cars broken into
A spate of car break-ins has Timaru police alarmed.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge four cars had been broken into over a 24-hour period, which is unusual in Timaru.
"It's too early to say if they are linked, but it seems to be cars which haven't been locked."
Electrical equipment, such as laptops, and cash had been stolen.
"It's annoying and heartbreaking for the victims. These days people have their whole life on their laptop," Woodbridge said.
